These are the main safety certificates required by MOM for construction workers in Singapore. All courses include theory and hands-on practice.

How Much You Need to Pay

Singapore citizens and PRs get up to 70% funding from SkillsFuture. Here's what you actually pay.

For Singaporeans

70% SkillsFuture Funding

Singapore citizens aged 21 and above get 70% subsidy. You can also use SkillsFuture Credit to pay the remaining amount.

Full course fee $150

SkillsFuture funding (70%) – $105

You pay only $45

Use your SkillsFuture Credit to pay $0 upfront. Available for citizens 25 years and above.

For PRs

70% SkillsFuture Funding

Permanent Residents get the same 70% funding as citizens. Bring your PR card on the first day of class.

Full course fee $150

SkillsFuture funding (70%) – $105

You pay only $45

PRs cannot use SkillsFuture Credit. Payment by cash, NETS, or PayNow.

For Foreign Workers

Full Course Fee Applies

Work Permit and S Pass holders pay the full fee. Your employer may sponsor your training or claim under the Skills Development Fund.

Important: Course Certificate Validity

CSOC certificates are valid for 2 years. You must renew before expiry to keep working legally. We send reminder SMS before your certificate expires.

What safety courses are mandatory for construction workers in Singapore?

All construction workers in Singapore must complete the Construction Safety Orientation Course (CSOC) before starting work. This is the law under MOM regulations.

You also need additional certificates if your job involves:

Work-at-Height — for any work above 3 metres
Multi-Skill Operator Course (MSOC) — for operating machines
Confined Space — for entering tanks, sewers, or enclosed areas

How long is the CSOC certificate valid?

Can I use SkillsFuture Credit to pay for safety courses?

Yes. Singapore citizens aged 25 and above can use SkillsFuture Credit to pay for these courses.

Here's how it works:

Government pays 70% of the course fee
You use SkillsFuture Credit to pay the remaining 30%
You pay $0 cash upfront

Bring your Singpass to class so we can help you claim.

What happens if I fail the test?

Don't worry — most people pass on their first try. The test is simple and our trainers prepare you well.

If you don't pass:

You can retake the test on the same day (free)
If you still don't pass, you can come back within 2 weeks for another try
Extra training is available if you need it

Our pass rate is over 95%.

How many SDU points do I need for ECO renewal?

You need 24 SDU points to renew your Employment of Construction Personnel (ECO) permit.

Each course gives you different SDU points:

CSOC = 14 SDU points
Work-at-Height = 8 SDU points
First Aid = 16 SDU points
Confined Space = 8 SDU points

Most workers take CSOC + Work-at-Height to get 22 points, then add a short course to reach 24.
